Guidance
Before beginning your speaking exercise we guide you through the process for you to focus on the actual speaking exercise. Included is a trail exercise for you to get comfortable.

To ensure the best result for the platform to process, we have made it easy to setup. With indicators you can see for yourself when everything is working perfectly.
You are now ready
Beginning the actual speaking exercise consists of three topic to talk about. These are not questions to answer correctly. The topic aims for you to use the language as you would naturally.
The focus is getting you to speak as you would in a normal conversation with someone in real life.
If something goes wrong!
If you encounter desturbance or other issues interrupting your speaking exercise, then do not worry.
If your speak to long or dont say anything at all, the platform stops and let you know what has happened. We give you the opportunity to start over again in case you need a fresh start.
NOTE
If you decide to retake your speaking exercise the topic changes. This to ensure that you can't get extra preparation time or have someone help you.
Completed exercises
When all three speaking exercises have been finilised we begin the assessment of your speaking capabilities and in that your overall language capabilties.
This assessment results in an official CEFR-score card.

When you achieve your desired CEFR score, complete the speaking exercise to generate your final, shareable score.

Speech Construction Evaluation (CEFR assessment)
Our proprietary algorithm analyzes quantitative and qualitative aspects of speech structure, including word count, sentence length, and lexical complexity. This methodology provides objective measurement of linguistic sophistication and sentence variation. By utilizing quantifiable metrics, this approach ensures reliable and consistent evaluation across all assessments, eliminating subjective interpretation and maintaining uniform standards for every test taker.
Including speaking exercise (Cheat protection)
Each CEFR score card includes an audio sample of the user's speaking exercise. This provides two essential functions: it allows recipients, such as employers or academic institutions, to independently evaluate the user's spoken language proficiency, and it serves as verification that the assessment was completed by the registered user rather than a third party. This dual-purpose approach ensures both transparency and authenticity in our assessment process.

Speech-to-text
Speech-to-text conversion of user-generated speaking exercises is conducted through rule-based algorithmic processes and pattern recognition technology provided by the vendor AssemblyAI. The transcription methodology captures all verbal elements, including minor speech imperfections, in their entirety. Assessment is subsequently performed through a 1:1 correspondence analysis between the original audio recording and the transcribed textual output.

Topic assessment (cheat protection)
Each user-generated speaking exercise is screened to determine whether the user is speaking in accordance with the assigned topic. This assessment prevents users from speaking off-topic or reading from pre-prepared text, which would fail to reflect their genuine language capabilities.

Grammar assessment
Through technology partners, we identify subtle patterns in language structure, including subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, pronoun consistency, and other grammatical relationships across entire sentences and paragraphs.
